A PCO (Private Hire Driver) licence is issued by Transport for London and is required to work as a private hire driver in the city. It covers minicabs, and limousines. If you’re seeking flexibility, independence, and strong earning potential, a PCO licence is your first step. How Long Does a PCO Licence Last?

What Do I Need?

To apply for a PCO licence, you’ll need to meet certain eligibility criteria and provide key documents. Great Transfers is here to guide you every step of the way.

You must:
  • Be at least 21 years old
  • Hold a full UK, NI, or EEA driving licence for the past three years
  • Meet the required medical standards (check-up with your GP)
  • Pass a criminal record check (Enhanced DBS)
  • Demonstrate map-reading and route-finding ability
  • Have basic English communication skills
You will also need:
  • Your passport
  • Your driving licence (paper or photocard)
  • National Insurance number
  • Two proof-of-address documents
